Videos With Excellent Choreographed Dance

Dear Music Video Makers,

I love it when you use excellent, artsy snippets of choreographed dance.

And this one:

And while we're at it:

It would be wrong of me not to acknowledge:

I suspect my love of choreographed dance stems from:
1. Exposure to 90's boy bands.

 2. 10 years studio dance experience; constantly being surrounded by talented dancers.

3.  I believe in the magic of momentum, of feeling, of getting lost in movement, in music.  I believe in living art, in dance, and I have since I was a wee one... I still remember the days when I would play We Will Rock You on repeat in the living room - so determined to choreograph my own dance routine that eventually my mom said, "We're signing you up for dance class."

I sign into my Facebook to steal the link to a video of me frolicking about.  Instead, I stumble across this message in my inbox:

You are such a random idiot and I love it cause its an uncontrolable part of the personality which brings out the best in people. at least in my opinion it does. its like that period when people are just wide awake and can't fall asleep and make comments that are so meaningful yet so irrelevant to whet ever was being said before. Or its those moments like I had tonight at school where I was sitting at my computer reading random pictures and jokes and kept giggling until it turned into me blurting out laughter and crying and the people next to me were like what is going on. With tears in eyes you try to explain with hand gestures, mumbles and a wavering smile. then you regain composure like nothing ever happened. but it did and you know it and so do I so yeah now I can say i'm a random idiot as well. touche fair maiden.

I just pictured the most extraordinary bleep of your life and my life and all the magic described above bringing them together. You were writing this and I was composing a blog post about dance. You are the best dancer I have ever personally known. Coincidence?

And now I'll go write about you in the blog post. Maybe see if anyone's plastered your moves across YouTube yet...

“We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once.”
Friedrich Nietzsche

"If you can't get rid of the skeleton in your closet, you'd best teach it to dance." - George Bernard Shaw

“Dance, when you're broken open. Dance, if you've torn the bandage off. Dance in the middle of the fighting. Dance in your blood. Dance when you're perfectly free.”
Rumi

“Almost nobody dances sober, unless they happen to be insane.”
H.P. Lovecraft

“Who're you going with, then?" said Ron.
"Angelina," said Fred promptly, without a trace of embarrassment.
"What?" said Ron, taken aback. "You've already asked her?"
"Good point," said Fred. He turned his head and called across the common room, "Oi! Angelina!"
Angelina, who had been chatting with Alicia Spinnet near the fire, looked over at him.
"What?" She called back.
"Want to come to the ball with me?"
Angelina gave Fred a sort of appraising look.
"All right, then," she said, and she turned back to Alicia and carried on chatting with a bit of a grin on her face.
"There you go," said Fred to Harry and Ron, "piece of cake.”

“Every day brings a chance for you to draw in a breath, kick off your shoes, and dance.”

For I would ride with you upon the wind,
Run on the top of the dishevelled tide,
And dance upon the mountains like a flame.”

“Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance. Great dancers are great because of their passion.”
Martha Graham

“You have to love dancing to stick to it. It gives you nothing back, no manuscripts to store away, no paintings to show on walls and maybe hang in museums, no poems to be printed and sold, nothing but that single fleeting moment when you feel alive.”
Merce Cunningham

“If a man doesn't know how to dance he doesn't know how to make love, there I said it!”
